I'm going to post questions and answers from a conversation with an artist. Her name is Amy Hamilton. She is a young artist from Ontario Canada studying graphic design. Her art work is beautiful and very unique. I found her through society6.com
If you want to see some of her work, here are some of her links I was able to find:

1. How do you create your art? What process works for you? Do you use thumbnails, compositions, etc?
- I do thumbnail sketches and create rough compositions with graphite before I start the digital work.
2. What medium/software package do you use?
- I free-hand paint in Photoshop with a Wacom Tablet
3. What are some of your influences that help you develop your art?
- I am inspired by nature and the people around me. I love being outdoors and often find that sketching outside inspires the best ideas.
4. What future do you see for illustration?
- I love Illustration. I see it as a creative outlet, but also as a platform to reach audiences everywhere. I believe art speaks to the soul and every viewer may get something different from each piece.
5. What advice would you give to young artists that are trying to develop their own skills?
- Experiment! that's what I'm doing and hope to always experiment with different techniques, mediums, compositions, etc.
6. How did you start getting your name out there? Any recommendations? Why did you choose Society 6?
- Society6 is the only shop where I sell my work. I come across my art on people's blogs and it's been featured on various websites. Almost always the person has seen my work on Society6 first. I heard about Society6 less than a year ago and at that time I thought I would try posting a few pieces. I had no idea I would actually sell anything though! I'm so pleased to have a great response from viewers!
7. For someone interested in working as an illustrator, what do you recommend not doing?
- Don't limit yourself! Produce art that inspires you (don't just try to please your audience). Don't be impatient with yourself.
I just want to express how amazed I am with Amy's pieces. She says she is still a student but her work looks very professional. I love that she inspires herself through nature/animals. I love her style and the flow of her brushstrokes and the textures that she creates.
